Randy James Cooper, 60, of Baytown, TX, went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2016. He was born in Port Arthur, TX, on October 27, 1956, the oldest of four. He grew up in New Orleans, LA and Winnie, TX before joining the Air Force in 1975 where he was stationed in Mountain Home, ID. After leaving the Air Force he took his GED test and scored the highest of anyone in the state of Louisiana at that time and actually received a high school diploma from Sulphur High School. After leaving the military he graduated from Sowela Technical Institute with an A/P license.

He worked on helicopters for many years before moving back to Texas in 1993 and joining the team of Industrial Scale Company where he worked for 23 years. They were his second family and he enjoyed his job and the people he encountered. Co-workers would call him "Super Randy" and his family would call him the "Bionic Man". He never passed up the chance to help someone in both his work and personal lives. He never met a stranger and accepted everyone for who and what they were; and if they were lucky they became his friend. He was an excellent mechanic and loved working on cars and finding projects to do around the house. He enjoyed watching the Rockets play, and trying to coach them through the TV, and spending time doting on his grand-daughter.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents who helped raise him, Mazel and Rene Hargrave; mother and step-father, Loretta and Irving Bressette; sister, Charlotte Cooper; uncles, Charles Hargrave and Earnest LaCombe; and aunt, Emily Gore.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Cooper; daughter, Janie Cooper; son, Joseph Cooper; sister and brother-in-law, Cyndi and Mark Khoury; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Angie Cooper; grand-daughter, Hailey Snyder; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of both San Jacinto Methodist and Harbor Hospice for their diligent care. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home.
